How to Solve a Murder: True Stories from a Life in Forensic Medicine Customer Reviews
:- 4.0 out of 5 stars from Eileen -- Fascinating, gripping and recommended : How to Solve a Murder: True Stories from a Life in Forensic Science by Derek and Pauline Tremain. ( Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2021 )
- 4.0 out of 5 stars from Kitties & Kindles -- Great read : This was a audiobook for me and I felt like it dragged right at the beginning and then took off like a rocket. The narrators were John Sackville and Kim Hicks. They did a good job. ( Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2021 )
- 1.0 out of 5 stars from Customerkds -- An overinflated, self indulgent book of anecdotes. : I was looking forward to reading this book as I hoped from the title & subtitle that it would have some great scientific processes used in solving crime. It didn’t. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 18, 2021 )
- 1.0 out of 5 stars from Chris Boyle -- Not a reflection of the title at all : This book succesfully satisfies my greatest peeve in that the title and heading sell one story, and the pages within are entirely different. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 29, 2021 )
- 2.0 out of 5 stars from A. Parker -- Disappointing : Regular readers of books on forensics will find nothing new here. I found it full of puffing, vague and just not very interesting. Parts of it were cringeworthy, plenty of name dropping and self congratulation. However if you have never read anything on the subject before and you want some mild entertainment then it fits that bill. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 30, 2021 )
- 3.0 out of 5 stars from Monarch500 -- Too chatty - not about solving murders : I gave up on this about halfway through having got fed-up with irrelevant anecdotal chat. I expected a thorough-going descriptions of the process of actually solving cases, but these never materialised. I was also irritated by almost never knowing which of the authors was writing at the time - very occasionally the piece referred to 'my wife' or 'my husband'. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 13, 2021 )
- 1.0 out of 5 stars from Cat T -- Misleading title & tedious book : This book has very little to do with CSI or forensics or murders. The last 50 pages are about forensic techniques being used to solve murders. The first 200 pages are tales a drunken relative would tell you while reliving the glory days of their career as a PA in a forensics office. Cringe worthy. Buy any other book.
